Great to meet you!

Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Katherine May, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of experience helping adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion and practical support. I offer telehealth therapy for clients in New York and Utah, creating a comfortable, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.

Life can be overwhelming at times—stress builds, relationships get strained, or emotions feel impossible to manage. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, or family conflict, my goal is to help you regain a sense of balance, peace, and confidence. You don’t have to go through it alone—healing happens when we face things together, with care and understanding.

My approach to therapy

A bit about my approach to therapy

My work is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based techniques, helping you identify unhelpful thought patterns and build healthy coping skills. I also integrate approaches focused on self-compassion, emotional regulation, and empowerment, allowing you to reconnect with your strengths and values.

I specialize in working with adults dealing with stress, anger, addiction, grief, and trauma, as well as those wanting to improve relationships, communication, and overall well-being. I believe therapy should feel collaborative and authentic—like having an honest, supportive conversation with someone who truly wants you to thrive.

What you can expect from me

What you can expect from our first session

Our first session is about getting to know you—your story, your strengths, and what you hope to achieve in therapy. Together, we’ll create a plan that feels realistic and aligned with your goals. You can expect warmth, curiosity, and a safe space to talk openly, without judgment.

I see therapy as a partnership—one where we explore what’s getting in the way of your peace, learn new ways to cope, and rediscover what makes you feel whole.
