Great to meet you!

Hi there! My name is Kat Nazaroff, and I am a Clinical Social Worker based in Houston, Texas. I've been practicing since 2015 and have specific training and education in substance use/compulsive behaviors, trauma, and family of origin work. I believe the therapy space should be warm and inviting and always leave some room for humor!

My approach to therapy

I firmly believe you should feel comfortable with the therapist you choose to work with. I view our relationship collaboratively. You are the expert on your own life, but it can be challenging to see your life experiences objectively. This is our work in therapy! My approach is primarily based on various theoretical approaches, including psychodynamic, attachment, a family of origin, family systems, and experiential.

What you can expect from me

I believe that our relationship is most important, so I hope that you feel heard and understood at the end of each session. I also realize that you're coming to therapy because you want something in your life to look different, so if I'm being transparent, some of our sessions may be challenging. My job isn't to say all of the things you want to hear, and it's to offer perspective and ask some questions that maybe you haven't thought about. I hope that you leave each session feeling supported!
