Great to meet you!

When your thoughts will not slow down, getting through the day feels harder than it should, or you are carrying the weight of experiences that still feel close, it can be exhausting to keep pushing forward alone. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what you are experiencing, and begin finding a path forward that feels more manageable. With nearly six years of experience and a background in community mental health, I have supported teens, young adults, and people from many different backgrounds as they navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, and family concerns. Very little surprises me, and nothing you bring is too small or too tangled to start with. Whether it is anxiety, feeling low, family tension, grief, or something you have never said out loud, you do not need to have it sorted before we talk. When you are ready, reach out and we will take the first step together.

My approach to therapy

My approach is individualistic and holistic, which really just means I build therapy around you instead of fitting you into a method. I meet you where you are at and offer a safe space, nonjudgmental attitude, and compassionate care in helping you reach your goals. Depending on what you need, I draw on cognitive behavioral therapy to untangle the thoughts that keep looping, trauma focused CBT and Seeking Safety when the past is still showing up in the present, solution focused work when you want momentum on something specific, and motivational interviewing when part of you wants change and part of you is not sure yet. I lean on your strengths, because you almost certainly have more of them than you are giving yourself credit for. Above all, I value the connection therapy brings, and that is what we build first.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is mostly me getting to know you, and you getting to decide whether this feels right. I will ask what brought you here now, what you want to be different, and what has or has not helped before, and together we will start shaping goals and a plan. I will also walk you through how telehealth works so none of the setup feels confusing. There is no homework, and no pressure to tell the whole story on day one. Most people leave that first hour feeling lighter, a little more understood, and clear on what comes next. When you are ready, reach out and we will take the first step together.
