Great to meet you!

We live in a world that celebrates strength, toughness, perseverance, and resilience. While these qualities can help us survive, they often leave little room to acknowledge the pain, exhaustion, or grief that made them necessary in the first place. It can be difficult to find a space where it feels safe enough to express anything beyond "I'm fine."

Too often, we're encouraged to move quickly toward solutions without first recognizing the weight of what we've been carrying. When we skip the essential step of feeling seen and validated, we miss opportunities for genuine connection, compassion, and healing. Over time, we may learn to hide the parts of ourselves that the world labels as weakness, slowly losing touch with who we truly are.

I believe healing begins when we create enough safety to honestly explore the experiences, relationships, and systems that have pulled us away from our authentic selves. By making space for the grief, honoring what we've endured, and reconnecting with our core values, we can move forward with greater intention, self-compassion, and a deeper sense of wholeness.

I have over 12 years of experience helping adults, teens and families navigate life challenges. I am trained in evidence-based clinical interventions through the Integrative Behavioral Healthcare Training Program and am fully licensed in IL. Underneath my clinical training, knowledge, and expertise, I am a social worker at heart. That means I am wired to consider all factors that shape your experiences, including the relationships, community, culture, and the systems you navigate every day. Our lives don't exist in isolation, and neither do our struggles.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is thoughtful, intentional, and grounded in genuine human connection. I'm naturally curious and reflective, and I bring those traits into our work together as we explore your experiences with compassion and empathy rather than judgment. I recognize that our lives don't exist in a vacuum. The systems, cultures, and communities we're part of shape our experiences, so I approach therapy through an anti-oppressive, culturally responsive lens that honors the full context of who you are.

I blend humanistic, strengths-based thinking with practical tools from CBT, ACT, and trauma-focused work — so we're both making sense of what's happening beneath the surface and building skills you can use between sessions. What that looks like depends on you. Some people need space to process and be heard. Others want concrete tools. Most need a bit of both, and we figure that out together.

What you can expect from me

Our first sessions are about getting to know each other — not rushing to solutions. We'll explore what brought you here and start to notice the patterns and systems that might be keeping you stuck. By building understanding of both your inner world and the environment around you, we can develop a more compassionate, complete picture of what you're carrying and what healing might look like. We will work together to set goals and a plan for your care that feel realistic for where you actually are right now. If you show up nervous, that's completely normal. My hope is that you leave feeling genuinely heard and a bit more connected to yourself.
