Great to meet you!

I grew up in the Bay Area and attended Mills College for my undergraduate education. After earning my degree in psychology, I worked in group homes for 20 years, providing therapy as a paraprofessional.

I attended graduate school at Chapman University College in Sacramento, graduating with honors with my master’s degree in 2003, and became licensed in 2006.

I have worked in private practice since then, as well as working for a major medical group doing screening and substance use prevention with pregnant women.

In 2008 I became a clinical supervisor, and in 2010 co-founded a non-profit counseling agency.

I completed Basic Training (50 hours) in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy in 2015 and became EMDR Certified in 2020.

My approach to therapy

I absolutely love being a therapist; I am passionate about meeting people who are in difficult circumstances and helping them identify internal resources as well as teaching new skills and strategies for navigating life.

I use a mixture of approaches to help clients understand their own patterns and ways in which their pasts are influencing their current functioning. I assist clients in exploring changes they would like to make, always working from a client-centered perspective.

What you can expect from me

The first session with me will be focused on getting to know each other, exploring your previous experiences of therapy (if any) and your hopes and expectations of our work together. We will also focus on gathering assessment information that will help me understand the best way to move into the clinical work with you.
