Great to meet you!

Hi! I am Katie. I am an Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Masters Certified Addictions Counselor (MCAP). I received my bachelors from UF and then went on to get my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from USF. I have nearly 10 years of experience working in the helping profession. After graduation, I began working in child welfare and for the past 3 years I have been working in residential substance use and trauma treatment programs.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative and cooperative. You are the expert of your life and you know what you need to be well. My job is to work alongside you to help you discern and better understand your unmet needs and less-than-helpful behaviors that might be getting in your way.

I am client centered and holistic in my approach. For trauma treatment, I am trained in a treatment modality called ART. You can find more information on this modality here: https://artherapyinternational.org/

What you can expect from me

I am not here to waste your time and I am not willing to be the kind of therapist that you need to see for the rest of your life. We will have a clear goal and we will work hard to get there. You will take away tangible ways to better manage your day-to-day life and will identify way to increase effectiveness in all areas of your life. You are trusting me to walk with you on your journey and I am not here to waste your session with fluff and small talk.
