Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Katie, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified School Counselor with over 11 years of experience providing supportive care in the DMV. I graduated from Trinity University in 2015, and have been supporting clients with things like: Anxiety, ADHD, Depression, financial therapy, grief & loss, life transitions, OCD, stress, nutrition for mental wellness, and transformational change processes associated with fitness and sports performance.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, curious, and holistic. I believe the most effective providers are those who foster a strong working relationship with their clients. Together, we will identify problem areas, set goals, and work jointly to help move you towards meaningful change. I help my clients not only build important insight, I assist them with taking that insight and putting it into action.

I have additional training and certification in: ADHD, OCD, women's mental health, perinatal mental health, food as medicine, and am in-process for completing my full certification in financial therapy.

What you can expect from me

Therapy tends to happen in three phases: intake and assessment, the working phase, and termination. In an effort to prioritize your comfort, I curate a warm, welcoming, therapeutic atmosphere starting from our first session.

During intake and assessment, we will spend a few sessions discussing you personal background, current problem areas, and the ways in which you hope this process will improve your quality of life. We will also set goals to measure your progress and ensure you are maximizing the benefit from our time together.

During the working phase, we will put all of that great insight into action! Together we will select strategies to initiate and navigate the change process, at a pace that feels right to you.

My mission is to help you achieve the goals you set at the beginning of our time together. Once those goals are achieved, we will work together to slowly and gradually reduce our session frequency until you no determine you no longer require support.

Every person's timeline is different, but most people report moderate to significant relief within the first 8-12 sessions.

Please know that I am with you, working alongside you every step of the way. It is an honor and privilege to support you along this journey!
