Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 25 years of experience- and many more years of lived experience. For the past fifteen years I've worked with women, children and couples on issues related to anxiety, mild-moderate depression, trauma, grief, relationships, aging well and adapting to changing life circumstances.

My first work as a therapist was in adoption therapy. In that context I worked with foster/adopted children, foster and adoptive parents, adult adoptees and presented training workshops.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is first to provide a warm, accepting atmosphere that makes it comfortable for us to discuss uncomfortable life experiences. My focus is on the concerns you bring to therapy and your goals for our work together.

What you can expect from our first session

After a session together my hope is that you would always feel heard and affirmed as a person and sometimes gently challenged. I will also give you tools to help you work on the concerns that brought you to therapy.

Kathleen's style is

Affirming
Empowering
Warm
