Great to meet you!

I am a Marriage & Family Therapist and ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider with a doctorate in psychology. My background includes experience working in juvenile justice, community-based mental health, insurance behavioral health teams, and therapy and testing services for those experiencing compassion fatigue, burnout, depression, toxic work environments, and military life. My education and personal/clinical experiences have aided in the development my ability to form therapeutic relationships with successful outcomes.

My approach to therapy

While most of my training has relied heavily on Family Systems, I do not use this therapeutic modality exclusively. Therapy is not a one size fits all, and it is important that clinicians have the ability to adapt to their client's needs. With that in mind, I do utilize the following theories and modalities when working with clients: Family Systems Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Psychoanalytic, and Play Therapy Techniques.

What you can expect from me

When clients come to me, I first work on developing the therapeutic relationship. This has been proven as the most effective intervention above all others. When mutual trust and respect is established, we get to work! I promote identifying client emotions first, then understanding the source of the emotions. We look at behavior, coping skills, and possible patterns. After this, we work together to develop positive changes and follow through with a focus on improved communication and self-care.
