Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Katie, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Denver, with over a decade of experience helping adults work through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and complex mental health needs, including LGBTQIA+ clients.

I draw from evidence-based approaches like ACT, IFS, Motivational Interviewing, and Gottman Method techniques for couples, tailoring my approach to each person. I'm also Board Certified in Neurofeedback, developing individualized protocols based on QEEG brain mapping for clients interested in a brain-based approach alongside talk therapy.

Years spent in clinical leadership, supervising therapists, building training programs, overseeing treatment quality, shape how I show up in session: structured, attentive to what's actually working, and honest with you about progress.

My approach to therapy

I'm direct, solution-focused, and not big on therapy speak for its own sake. I'll tell you what I'm noticing, ask the questions that actually move things forward, and won't dance around something just because it's uncomfortable, but I'll always do it with humor and warmth, because I don't think serious work requires a serious mood the whole time.

My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice. I draw on ACT, IFS, Motivational Interviewing, and Gottman Method techniques depending on what you're working through, and I stay current on the research behind what I'm recommending. I'm also Board Certified in Neurofeedback, so for clients interested in it, I can bring a brain based lens into our work alongside traditional talk therapy.

I'm open-minded and nonjudgmental by nature. I've spent years working with clients across a wide range of identities, backgrounds, and life experiences, and I don't expect you to fit into a particular mold to get something out of therapy. My goal is to help you build self awareness and skills you can actually use, not to keep you in therapy indefinitely.

What you can expect from me

Expect a conversation, not an interrogation. We'll talk through what's bringing you in, what you've already tried, and what "better" would actually look like for you. I ask a lot of questions up front so I understand the full picture before jumping to solutions.

By the end of the session, you'll have a sense of how I work and a rough idea of what we'll focus on going forward. I set specific, measurable goals rather than vague ones, and I check in on those regularly so we both know what's working. Expect some humor, some honest pushback when it's useful, and zero pressure to perform "okay" for me.
