Great to meet you!

I bring 33 years of experience in the which includes agency work, private practice, teaching new counselors at the Masters level and supervision of the same. I began practice with family and child issues and progressed to adult and couples as former clients returned. My background growing up in a diverse urban environment with various cultures, identities and lifestyle has influenced my openness to the belief that regardless of differences we all share our humanity.

My approach to therapy

It takes courage to seek out assistance toward a more fulfilling and happier life. I am glad you have decided to committing to becoming the best version of you. After you share your story with me know that I will always support and empower you in a nonjudgmental safe space. We all have skill sets, strengths, personal passions and values which shape us and steer how we navigate life. I center my approach on assisting you to find these to counter the roadblocks you're experiencing. I use a combination of therapies which help you accept things you can and cannot control and modify behavioral reactions which are not helpful. In order to fortify your strengths we work on letting go of those behaviors. The final phase involves accepting personal responsibility for current choices.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity to form a therapeutic alliance. We will do this by sharing our backgrounds and experiences. Next, I will have you share the story of why you have decided to seek help and finally we will make a plan for going forward.
