Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with years of experience helping adults navigate life's challenges and transitions. I am licensed in the state of Tennessee and provide therapy for individuals ages 18 and older.

My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, adjustment to life changes, personal growth, and substance use concerns. I work collaboratively with clients to identify their goals, build effective coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. I strive to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.

Whether you are facing a major life transition, struggling with stress or emotional difficulties, or seeking support in recovery, I am committed to helping you move toward greater well-being and resilience.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded primarily in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), while also incorporating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, mindfulness practices, and principles of positive psychology. I am goal-oriented and believe therapy should help clients make meaningful progress both in the present and over the long term.

While I value exploring and addressing deeper, longstanding issues that may contribute to current struggles, I also believe there are practical steps clients can take right away to begin moving toward their goals. Together, we identify what matters most to you and create a path forward that feels realistic, manageable, and meaningful.

I strive to meet clients where they are, honoring their unique experiences, values, and goals with acceptance, empathy, and respect. I believe that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are deeply interconnected, and that positive changes in one area can create meaningful shifts in others. I also strive to incorporate evidence-based practices and measuring progress along the way. I see myself as part of a holistic healthcare team and encourage clients to address physical and mental health concerns through lifestyle and medicine as needed.

When working with substance use concerns, I take a nonjudgmental, client-centered approach. While some clients pursue complete sobriety, others may have goals related to reducing use, improving safety, or developing a more mindful relationship with substances. I believe these are valid treatment goals, and I work collaboratively with clients to support the changes that are most meaningful to them.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a welcoming, supportive environment where we begin getting to know one another. We will discuss what brings you to counseling, the challenges you are currently facing, and what you hope to gain from therapy.

I will explain the therapeutic process, answer any questions you may have, and work with you to identify both immediate concerns and longer-term goals. We will also complete a diagnostic assessment and gather information about your personal history, mental health, relationships, and other important aspects of your life. This helps me develop a better understanding of your experiences and tailor treatment to your unique needs.

My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of how we can work together to help you make meaningful progress toward your goals.
