Great to meet you!

Primarily a trauma specialist since 2015, I treat both childhood trauma (to include attachment disorders) and other trauma experienced later in life. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in a wide variety of clinical settings. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I am licensed in VA and PA and I see individual adults. As a trauma survivor myself, I have great respect for those who wish to embark on the journey of healing. I also help those with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, relationship issues (to include codependency), and several other treatment areas. I work with warmth and compassion and in an inquisitive, and at times challenging way, but always with respect.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy in an inclusive, flexible, and respectful way. It's your therapy. I'm a guide to help you apply your strengths to your healing process or to solve a problem. I want to have power WITH you, not over you. Your experience of therapy matters to me, so I periodically review with you how therapy is going and if you're getting what you need from it.

In trauma work, I first seek to empower you by giving you information about how trauma affects the brain and nervous system and specific ways of calming them, using a body-based approach to stabilize troubling symptoms. We can then go on to work on emotional regulation and choose a treatment option(s) that will work best for you. I work eclectically according to what you need. I offer several treatment options, including EMDR, Brainspotting, and the Flash Technique.

What you can expect from me

Our initial session is an intake session in which I gather information about what you've been through and what you want to see improve in your life. I ask a lot of questions and you can ask me questions too.
