Great to meet you!

Kathryn Ort, MS, LMHC, is a mental health counselor with Live Well Practice. Kathryn graduated with a Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling with Honors from Capella University. She has over ten years of experience providing individual, couples, group, and crisis counseling and has worked in private practice, community clinic and higher education settings.

My approach to therapy

Kathryn believes that that key to effective therapy begins with the quality of the client/counselor relationship as well as client motivation for change in their lives. It is her goal to promote a safe and supportive counseling experience for her clients. She takes a collaborative approach with her clients, who she believes posses their own innate wisdom.

What you can expect from me

Kathryn seeks to first connect with her clients and understand their world and experiences. Then she explores with her clients their goals for therapy. She uses Motivational interviewing, CBT, Narrative therapy, Solution-focused therapy and Family Systems Therapy, depending on clients’ issues and goals in therapy.
