I am licensed to practice professional counseling in Florida and Missouri with a specialty in addictions and co-occurring disorders. I have been assisting clients since 2011, but in recent years my primary focus is with adults ages 18 and older.
I believe in a practical approach to therapy very much within here and now issues. I like to help clients explore possibilities for the answers they seek. I help to challenge clients to consider things they may not have thought about to bring about a positive mindset, self-care, and a stronger support system. Our work together can help overcome adversity to bring about emotional resiliency. Key steps will typically focus on objectives for action that is within your control, reframing challenges as growth opportunities, and practicing self-regulation for personal growth.
Your first session will begin with learning about you, what brought you in, and what your needs might be. After that I'll help you to identify goals as we work on them together throughout this counseling process. I enjoy assisting clients to gain independence and confidence, manage stress, maintain sobriety, strengthen relationships, and cultivate sound mental health. I aim to assist clients achieve their desired outcomes through compassion, support, & encouragement.
