Great to meet you!

If you value maturity, education and experience, I can help you. I have worked with individuals and couples for over 35 years, and have been in recovery for over 40 years. I have specialized in substance abuse, anger management, and mood disorders and have attended many workshops and trainings. As a facilitator for mens' domestic violence groups since 1992, I especially enjoy working with men, as I feel like I have gained a lot of insight into their issues.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is to first establish a relationship based on mutual trust. My strength is I am able to help clients open up and self disclose without feeling judged. I see therapy as an opportunity for goal setting and problem solving. I enjoy being a coach who encourages clients to focus on their physical as well as mental health.

What you can expect from me

In the first session I try my best to help you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. I attempt to gain an understanding of your goals for therapy. In addition I like to instill hope and offer encouragement. I will self-disclose when appropriate and envision therapy as a joint effort.
