Great to meet you!

I’m Katia Garcia, PMHNP-BC, a bilingual Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in mental health care. I provide medication management for adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, sleep concerns, and life transitions. As a Latina and immigrant, I understand how cultural expectations and life experiences can impact mental health—and treatment works best when it reflects your lived experience.

I work with patients to evaluate whether medication may be helpful, develop a personalized treatment plan, and monitor progress over time so you can begin feeling better safely and effectively.

My approach to therapy

I focus on evidence-based psychiatric evaluation, medication management when appropriate, and supportive therapy integrated into treatment. Many patients benefit from a combined approach that includes both medication and regular sessions to develop coping strategies, improve daily functioning, and manage symptoms more effectively.

Supportive therapy may be incorporated into follow-up visits or scheduled separately when clinically appropriate as part of an ongoing medication management plan. I frequently collaborate with outside therapists and welcome coordinated care, providing referrals for more specialized or intensive psychotherapy when needed.

What you can expect from me

In each session, we’ll review how you’re doing, discuss any changes in symptoms, and adjust your treatment plan as needed. Depending on your needs, this may include medication management along with supportive therapy to help address stress, sleep concerns, attention challenges, or emotional regulation. Many patients begin to notice relief from symptoms within the first few weeks of treatment.

My goal is to help you find a treatment plan that supports focus, mood stability, sleep, and day-to-day functioning—while minimizing unwanted side effects. When additional therapeutic support is beneficial, I welcome coordinated care with outside therapists and can provide referrals for more specialized treatment when appropriate.
