Great to meet you!

I’m Katie DeMent, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with an MA, LCPC, CCATP, and NBHWC background. I work with women, men, teens, and children who are navigating anxiety, depression, eating disorders, nutrition concerns, life transitions, self-confidence issues, stress, and the challenges that can make it hard to feel comfortable in your own life. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of meaningful change. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported as we work together to identify your needs, build confidence, and move toward healthier patterns in your daily life.

My approach to therapy

My counseling approach is eclectic, individualized, and collaborative. I do not believe therapy should look the same for every client, because each person brings different experiences, goals, strengths, and challenges into the room. In session, we may work on understanding patterns related to anxiety, depression, eating concerns, nutrition, self-confidence, relationships, stress, and life transitions while building practical tools that support emotional balance and personal growth. My style is warm, supportive, and engaged. I believe therapy should help clients feel seen and heard while also offering guidance, insight, and strategies that can create lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my focus is on helping you feel comfortable, understood, and supported from the beginning. We will talk about what brings you to therapy, what has been difficult lately, and what goals you may have for our work together. Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, depression, eating disorders, nutrition concerns, self-confidence, stress, life transitions, or challenges affecting your child or teen, we will begin identifying what kind of support feels most helpful. My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, respected, and clearer about how therapy can help you move toward greater confidence, stability, and well-being.
