Great to meet you!

Katie graduated from The University of Southern California with a BA in Communications and also received her MSW from USC. For many years after earning her MSW, she was a licensed clinician focusing on gay and lesbian adolescents. She placed foster children in homes of gay and lesbian couples and monitored their integration into their foster family. She simultaneously maintained a private practice and did supervision while raising her two boys.

My approach to therapy

Katie was born with a partial hearing loss which forced her to pay attention to the words people use and the different ways people communicate. While this hearing loss could have been perceived as a disability, Katie saw it as an opportunity for growth, strength, and resilience, and it heightened her sensitivity to understanding the uniqueness and strength that lies within us all.

What you can expect from me

Katie works with adults, adolescents, and children of divorce in a private practice in Beverly Hills. Part of her work is to help people speak and find their own truth and to help guide her clients in new ways of thinking, so that they may develop new behaviors that are in alignment with who they are. She provides cognitive-behavioral therapy with a humanistic approach. She believes people have the answers within themselves and that there are many ways of looking at any given situation.
