Great to meet you!

I'm Katie! I have a Master of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University. I've had diverse experiences in community mental health as a therapist and current areas of specialized interest include identity, aging, body image, confidence, assertiveness, women's issues, mental health diagnoses, gender identity, existential crisis, religious trauma, and sex and sexuality. I'm currently working with adults, LGBTQIA+, and marginalized populations when appropriate.

My approach to therapy

I use a client-centered, strengths-based approach, often utilizing feminist therapy as it explores how societal factors influence functioning and is versatile in application. Sessions also include therapy styles, adaptable to needs including but not limited to bibliotherapy, CBT, ACT, DBT, psychoeducation, IPT, sex-informed therapy, gender-affirming care, and mindfulness. You’re the expert in your life and do the hard work; therapy is a tool to illuminate your path and support your journey.

What you can expect from me

The client-therapist relationship is crucial to positive outcomes, it’s vital to prioritize strong therapeutic relationships emphasizing client needs and experiences. I provide safe, supportive sessions with goal-oriented direct and open communication. Humor is effective for strengthening therapeutic alliances and processing. I promote advocacy, boundaries, self-care, and healthy coping skills in or out of session. Feeling a bit more confident, relaxed, and mirthful is common at session end.
