Great to meet you!

I'm not the docile or perfectly polished "how does that make you feel" kind of therapist. I talk fast, I get loud, and I wear beanies in session. I have overcome severe addictions and a variety of other traumas trailing all the way from childhood. I have been at rock bottom without an essence of hope and I have worked really hard to be where I am at in my own healing journey so I can help be a holder of hope for others through their trials and I care deeply for the folks I choose to work with.

My approach to therapy

My preferred approach to therapy is Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Beyond the basic training, I am a certified EMDR therapist through EMDRIA. However, I am far from a purist. I have advanced training in a number of different modalities. More than anything my approach adapts to meet the needs of the person I am working with. I keep my case planning flexible to hold space to respond to what folks bring to session.

What you can expect from me

Overall, we aim for relief from the things weighing you down- whether that is building up the tools and resources you have or identifying and absolving negative cognitions that have been keeping you down. My hope is for you to end session feeling better than when we started, even if it's just a little better. A felt sense of empowerment is the goal I have for all of my clients.
