Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Katina Pittman, a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been supporting clients since 2007. I know that reaching out for therapy can take courage, especially when you’ve been carrying a lot on your own. My goal is to offer a warm, respectful space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and work toward changes that matter to you.

Clients can expect me to meet them with compassion and honesty. I recognize that each person’s experiences are different, so I’ll take time to understand your perspective, your strengths, and the challenges bringing you to therapy.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, practical, and focused on your goals. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy to help you notice patterns, consider new perspectives, build on what is already working, and identify steps you can take outside of sessions.

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. We’ll work together to find an approach that fits your needs and pace. You can expect encouragement and support, along with thoughtful questions that help you reflect, build coping skills, and move toward meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. I’ll invite you to share what has been going on, what you would like help with, and what you hope might change. We may also discuss relevant background, your strengths and supports, and what has or hasn’t helped so far.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come in. You can ask questions, share at your own pace, and let me know what feels important. Together, we’ll start identifying goals and decide on next steps. The first session is about beginning to understand your needs—not having to solve everything at once.
