Great to meet you!

I am passionate about responsible and compassionate clinical care for a variety of mental health concerns. Everyone has a story, and everyone has the strength to come back from their story. I provide an affirming, warm, and empowering setting for you to heal from not just everyday life injuries but also traumatic ones. You know the ones that stop you in your tracks and arrest progression in life. Everyone has one. I graduated from Regent University in 2014 with a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling. I also have highly specialized training as a Clinical Master Traumatologist through the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology (which took 7 years to complete). I have years of experience working with both adults and children, ages 6 to 70. I have traveled to many countries, providing clinical trauma care to individuals suffering from trauma. I am also certified in EMDR through Green Cross. I spent the majority of my time working in the community and in youth residential treatment facilities, treating children and families with a very low rate of return to treatment. I work especially well with Borderline Personality Disorder, and I am well-trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I have worked with children and adolescents suffering from attachment trauma, PTSD, and Dissociative disorders. I have worked with foster care youth and adoptive families, working to improve attachment-based parenting using Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI). There is nothing that a client can tell me that I have not heard in my 12-plus years of experience. Lastly, I am an LMHC with the state of Florida, and I am currently in a Doctoral Program at the University of the Cumberlands in their Counselor Education and Supervision program.

My approach to therapy

While my feet are firmly planted in a psychodynamic approach, I utilize this foundation to implement strength-based approaches and am very comfortable using a variety of treatment approaches, such as CBT, TF-CBT, MI, DBT, Informed care, and TBRI, while laying a foundation in secure attachment styles. Compassion-focused therapy is also a core tenet of my practice.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, you will be greeted with warmth, compassion, and a strength-based approach. During the intake portion of the session, we will complete your assessments and biopsychosocial so that I can build a clinical case conceptualization and treatment plan.
