Great to meet you!

My treatment philosophy centers on exploring the dynamic relationship between mind, body and spirit to enhance your quality of life.

My background as a combat medic in the United States Army shaped my approach to care. I have over 16 years of nursing experience, holding a doctorate from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

It is both my duty and privilege of service to walk alongside my clients on their mental health journeys.

My approach to therapy

My approach is to focus on the client's strengths, skills and resources to create agreed upon treatment goals. You will find I take my time to get to know you, to tease out the core of the issues, including any medical, before making a diagnosis or prescribing medication; solutions over band-aids.

I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) within sessions and feel collaboration with your family and/or other providers is crucial.

I work with children through adulthood. (Children under age 14 with approval due to virtual sessions). I treat ADHD (child and adult), Autism, Anxiety Disorders including OCD, Mood Disorders (Depression, Bipolar Disorder) and trauma. If you feel you were not listed, that is okay, we are not confined to boxes, I work with everyone who wants help.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is meant as a time to get to know each other, ask questions, gather information. I never pretend to know everything about a person after one hour, however, it is my hope that at the end of the session we have established a rapport and began creating goals that instill some hope.

With mutual respect, effort and perserverance, my client's experience a greater sense of well being and undertanding on how to move forward in their life following our work together.
