Katrina Johnson

Hi, I’m Katrina. Originally from Pennsylvania, my husband and I relocated to Florida a few years ago. I am a proud alumna of Penn State University (WE ARE!) and hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from Millersville University. My professional experience includes serving as a hospital case manager, completing a behavioral health internship at a federally qualified health center, and providing support in home hospice care. I am particularly passionate about Health at Every Size (HAES), supporting individuals with disordered eating, and helping clients navigate grief, bereavement, and anxiety.

My approach to therapy is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), complemented by Motivational Interviewing strategies that encourage self-reflection and empower clients to make lasting changes. While these modalities provide a foundation for my work, I recognize that no two clients are the same. I believe effective therapy should be individualized, and I work collaboratively with each client to create a treatment plan that aligns with their personal values, strengths, and aspirations for growth and healing.

During our first session, my primary focus is getting to know you and creating a comfortable space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. We’ll discuss what has led you to seek therapy, explore the challenges and concerns you may be facing, and talk about what you hope to gain from the counseling process. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals and developing a personalized approach that supports your growth, healing, and overall well-being. This initial conversation helps lay the foundation for a collaborative therapeutic relationship and allows us to create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs, strengths, and aspirations.
