The first session isn't about having all the answers. It's about taking the first step toward understanding yourself and feeling comfortable enough to begin.
I know meeting with a therapist for the first time can feel intimidating, especially when you're unsure where to start or what to say. My goal is to make that experience as comfortable, natural, and judgment-free as possible.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I'll take time to listen to your story, understand what brought you to therapy, explore the challenges you're facing, and learn what you hope to gain from our time together. We'll also review important information about therapy, confidentiality, and what you can expect moving forward.
My approach is relaxed, genuine, and conversational. You won't be expected to share everything at once, have the perfect words, or know exactly what you want to work on. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you while beginning to identify your strengths, goals, and areas where you'd like to see change.
I believe therapy is a partnership, not a one-size-fits-all process. You bring your experiences, and I bring the tools, support, and perspective to help you navigate them.
Most importantly, I want you to leave our first session feeling heard, respected, understood, and hopeful about what comes next.
Remember, you don't have to have it all figured out to start making progress. Sometimes the hardest part is simply showing up and that's a great place to begin.
