Great to meet you!

Katya Camacho, LCSW, is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s degree from Fordham University. She provides telehealth therapy to children, youth, families, and adults, helping clients navigate life’s challenges in a safe and supportive environment.

Katya has years of experience as a therapist working with diverse communities and specializes in supporting clients dealing with general life stressors, anxiety, depression, trauma, and family challenges. She takes a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and collaborative approach, creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen relationships.

Through telehealth, Katya makes therapy accessible and flexible, providing consistent support to clients no matter where they are located.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and collaborative. I work to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients—whether children, adolescents, families, or adults—feel empowered to explore their emotions and experiences. I focus on helping clients reduce distress, improve communication, and build healthy coping skills, all while honoring their cultural background and personal strengths.

I specialize in working with children, youth, and families, as well as adults navigating mental health challenges, co-occurring substance use, and life stressors. I use evidence-based approaches such as Functional Family Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, tailoring my techniques to meet each client’s unique needs. Through telehealth, I strive to make therapy accessible, flexible, and effective, providing consistent support even when clients can’t meet in person.

What you can expect from me

In a first session with Katya, clients can expect a warm, safe, and nonjudgmental environment where they are encouraged to share their experiences and concerns openly. She takes time to get to know each client’s unique situation, goals, and strengths, and works collaboratively to develop a plan that feels realistic and supportive.

Typical goals for a first session include understanding the challenges the client is facing, identifying immediate stressors, and beginning to explore coping strategies and ways to improve emotional well-being. Katya’s approach is compassionate and strengths-based, helping clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to take the first steps toward positive change.
