Great to meet you!

Kays Safe Space provides therapeutic counseling to adolescents and adults in a non-judgmental therapeutic environment, that allows individuals to speak their truth. I have been in the field of social work for over 20 years, and have worked multiple populations treating multiple clients with issues related to forensic social work, domestic violence, sexual abuse, PTSD, depression and anxiety.

My approach to therapy

I use a trauma informed approach to working with individuals. Everyone has the ability to reach their own level of mastery and competence and self actualize. Collaboratively, we will use a number of treatment modalities to make that a reality. I will use evidence based mindfulness approaches, coupled with other psychodynamic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

What you can expect from me

My goal is that clients will feel empowered, and motivated to continue to address the issues that got them to seek therapy. It's important that clients feel a deep sense of connection and rapport and forms a therapeutic alliance with me, as their therapist. That I believe is fundamental to having a fulfilling therapy experience. It's also important for clients to understand they control sessions, and so while we will have goals outlined for sessions, they are free to address new issues.
