Great to meet you!

Are you struggling with everyday challenges and wishing you had someone you could talk to openly? Perhaps you have spent more time managing everything alone than you would like to admit keeping your anxiety under control, staying on top of responsibilities, and appearing okay while experiencing something much harder underneath. When handling everything alone no longer feels manageable, having the right support can make a meaningful difference. My name is Kayla, and I am a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and organizational psychologist with 20 years of experience in community mental health. I specialize in helping individuals experiencing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, grief, major life transitions, workplace trauma, and co-occurring substance use. These challenges rarely occur alone, and healing often begins through a safe, supportive, and trusting therapeutic relationship.

My approach to therapy

My approach is direct, practical, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, person centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and talk therapy. I will be honest and direct with you while meeting you exactly where you are. Together, we will explore your emotions, identify patterns, strengthen coping and emotional-regulation skills, and work toward helping you feel more confident and in control of your life. Empathy is at the heart of my practice. I approach every session with cultural humility and respect for each person’s unique identity, experiences, and circumstances. I welcome adults from all backgrounds and provide a nonjudgmental environment where you can feel heard, understood, and supported.

You do not have to face life’s challenges alone. If you are ready to begin working toward healing, resilience, and meaningful change, I invite you to contact my me. Evening and Weekend appointments are available.

What you can expect from me

During our first few sessions, we will focus on getting to know each other, building rapport, and helping you feel comfortable. I’ll ask you some questions and complete assessments so I can better understand your background, current concerns, strengths, and the areas where you may need support.

You can share information at your own pace, and you do not have to discuss anything you are not ready to talk about. We will also review confidentiality, the limits of confidentiality, and what you can expect from therapy. Together, we will identify your goals and develop a plan that works best for you.
