Great to meet you!

I believe people are often more resilient than they realize. My work focuses on trauma and bipolar disorder, as well as anxiety, depression, OCD, grief, and challenges within relationships and families. I work with individuals, couples, and families, recognizing that healing often happens through connection, not in isolation.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy fishing and spending time in the woods. Those quiet moments have taught me patience and the importance of paying close attention, qualities I bring to every session. I won’t rush you or assume I understand your life before hearing your story. Together, we’ll take the time to understand what you’re experiencing, recognize the strengths you already carry, and find a path forward that feels right for you.

My approach to therapy

I take an integrative approach, tailoring therapy to you rather than asking you to fit into a single method. Depending on your needs, our work may include trauma-focused CBT or EMDR to process painful experiences, Internal Family Systems to explore parts of you that feel in conflict, and mindfulness-based or psychodynamic approaches to understand deeper patterns. When working with couples and families, I draw from the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and structural and Bowen family systems approaches.

My style is strength-based and solution-focused. We’ll identify what is already working and build from there. I’ll be direct, ask meaningful questions, and sometimes challenge you with respect, compassion, and the understanding that you are the expert on your own life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is primarily about getting to know one another. I’ll ask what brought you to therapy, what has felt most difficult lately, and what you would like to change. You’re in control of how much you share and when. There’s no expectation that you discuss your most painful experiences on day one.

Before we finish, we’ll clarify what you hope to gain from therapy, and I’ll share my initial thoughts about how we might work toward those goals, including a realistic sense of timing. You’ll have space to ask questions and should leave with a clear understanding of what the next few sessions may look like.
