Great to meet you!

Hello! I'm Kayla, and I’m excited to be part of your journey. After spending over 13 years in education, I transitioned into the mental health field, earning my Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services from UCCS here in Colorado Springs. I deeply believe that each person’s path to growth is unique, and I’m committed to supporting my clients with the therapeutic approach that best fits their needs. I’ve seen incredible healing unfold through the strong, authentic connections and relationships we build together. I’m here to walk with you every step of the way.

My approach to therapy

My approach is always to meet you and your child where you are, taking the time to understand your unique needs and experiences. I view challenges through an attachment-focused lens, recognizing that many struggles stem from the connections we have with others and our relationship with ourselves. I have specialized training in play-based interventions, including Theraplay, which has proven to be particularly helpful for addressing ADHD, adoption-related challenges, attachment concerns, emotion regulation, and various mental health and trauma responses.

What you can expect from me

We will collaborate to set realistic goals and tailor our work together to focus on achieving them, regularly checking in on progress. My aim is to foster a space where everyone feels safe to be their authentic selves, while growing in their ability to connect with both themselves and others. Initial intake appointments are 90 minutes, with subsequent sessions typically lasting 50-60 minutes. I usually meet with clients on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, and as progress is made, we transition to a schedule that best suits your needs.
