Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Kayla, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Spilled Therapy, a virtual practice serving clients throughout California, because therapy is for when life gets messy. I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ adults and couples and women's health, and I also support clients with anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, and addiction and recovery. My background includes trauma and alcohol treatment centers, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, and community mental health, and I earned my Master's in Psychology from Pepperdine University. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative, and I'll help you understand your patterns, build practical tools, and feel more like yourself again.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, open-minded, and collaborative. I want therapy to feel like a real conversation. I work to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are, messy parts included, and together we explore the patterns, relationships, and experiences shaping how you feel today. Along the way, I balance insight with practical tools, so you leave sessions understanding yourself more deeply and with skills to use in your everyday life. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or recovery, I tailor our work to your goals and pace, with a particular focus on LGBTQ+ adults and couples and women's health.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, the focus is getting to know you and helping you feel comfortable, with no pressure to have everything figured out. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what's been feeling heavy or messy lately, and what you hope will feel different as we work together. I'll also ask about your background, relationships, and current supports, and you're welcome to ask me anything about how I work. By the end of the session, we'll have a shared sense of your goals and next steps, and you'll know whether we feel like a good fit. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, a little lighter, and clear on what our work together can look like.
