Great to meet you!

Hesed Counseling was founded by Kayla Moreno Vega, MSW, LCSW in 2023. Kayla spent her post-graduate time specialized in in-home therapy for children ages 0-6 who have experienced traumatic and/or stressful life events as well as those with developmental and sensory disorders. Kayla found her passion working with toddlers and young children overlaps with the need for pediatric mental health in the greater Wilmington area.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Children do not exist in solidarity, therefore, a holistic view of the family is considered in treatment for the child. I utilize a variety of session types including individual (children 5+), family, and caregiver collaterals to provide a specialized approach to each client as every family's needs are unique.

What you can expect from our first session

As an autistic individual, I understand firsthand, the struggles and barriers that neurodivergent clients face in their daily walk. I look forward to helping children and families feel empowered and heard as they work towards a happier and healthier version of themselves! Kayla chose the name Hesed Counseling as the word Hesed encompasses the therapeutic style she brings to practice by being with, walking alongside, and healing together.
