Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Kayla- a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Ohio. I am passionate about supporting children, families, and adults as they navigate emotional and behavioral challenges and work toward feeling more balanced, confident, and connected.

My background includes intensive home-based therapy with families navigating significant emotional and behavioral concerns in children, working as an Assessment Specialist in collaboration with Job and Family Services, and currently serving as a school-based therapist with students in grades 3–6. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how children function across home, school, and family systems—and how to support both the child and the caregivers in meaningful, lasting ways.

I work with children who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, behavioral concerns, and difficulties at home or school. I also support parents in building effective strategies, improving communication, and feeling more confident in how they respond to their child’s needs.

In addition to my work with children and families, I also enjoy working with adults who are experiencing anxiety, stress, life transitions, or challenges related to parenting and relationships. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to “hold it all together,” and I strive to create a space where you can feel supported, understood, and empowered.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, compassionate, and practical. I focus on building strong relationships with my clients while also providing tools and strategies that can be used in everyday life. My goal is to help clients feel more in control of their emotions, more connected in their relationships, and more confident moving forward.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my main goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially for children and families, so I focus on creating a calm, welcoming environment where you can ease into the process at your own pace.

We’ll spend time getting to know each other and talking through what’s bringing you (or your child) to therapy. I’ll ask questions to better understand your concerns, strengths, and goals, but there’s no pressure to share everything all at once.

For children, I meet them at their level—often incorporating a more relaxed, engaging approach to help them feel safe and open. For parents and caregivers, we’ll also begin discussing what you’re noticing at home or school and how I can best support both you and your child.

By the end of the session, we’ll start identifying goals and next steps, whether that’s building coping skills, improving emotional regulation, reducing anxiety, or strengthening family communication.

Overall, you can expect a supportive, judgment-free space where you feel understood and leave with a clearer sense of direction and hope moving forward.
