Great to meet you!

I chose to work in the mental health field because of my desire to help others live life more abundantly. I primarily work with women, teen girls, and children. I completed my Masters of Social Work with a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy at The University of Georgia. I am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia and a member of the Georgia Christian Counselors Association. For additional information, visit my website at www.counselingwithkaylen.com!

A bit about my approach to therapy

I utilize an integrated approach based on my clients' needs. I offer Christian counseling and work with people at various places in their faith journey. I incorporate aspects of insight oriented, Cognitive Behavioral, solution focused, and strengths based therapies in addition to trauma-informed and attachment-based approaches with a focus on resilience. With my younger clients, I incorporate play therapy methods. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy.

What you can expect from our first session

During your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and determine the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. Throughout the therapeutic process, I have a down to earth and authentic approach. The power of hope is strong, and our work will be to rekindle that hope within you.
