Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Keesha Elder and I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist and I have experience working with couples, families, and individuals of all ages from five to elderly. I completed my undergrad at Cal State Long Beach; my master's at University of Phoenix and will be pursuing my PhD at the University of Minnesota. I am a Christian therapist who treats areas of stress, anxiety, relationship, family conflicts, grief, self-esteem, and motivation.

My approach to therapy

I have a very comfortable approach to therapy. I want my patients to feel at home; a judgment-free zone to talk about how they feel so they can get the most out of treatment. I enjoy using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, amongst other approaches. I love to teach in my sessions. Providing education and teaching tools and techniques to help you overcome challenges is my style.

What you can expect from me

I strongly believe in the therapeutic alliance. This includes the therapist establishing a mutual trust with the client and the collaborative effort in establishing goals. Completing therapy with tools and techniques that can be used for the rest of your life is my desire for every client; to feel and be empowered.
