Great to meet you!

If you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, or some combination of all of it, you are not too complicated to help. I am a therapist with 30 years of clinical experience, including 28 years as an intensive case manager with New York State's mental health system and nine years in private practice. I hold an LCSW-R and a CASAC credential, which means I am trained to work with the full picture: mental health, substance use, and the way these challenges so often arrive together. I also work with adults whose physical health is beginning to affect their emotional well-being or creating new patterns of stress. My style is direct, honest, and steady. I will not avoid difficult conversations, but I will always approach them with genuine care and without judgment. If that sounds like the kind of support you are looking for, I would be glad to connect.

My approach to therapy

I work collaboratively with you to identify what is not working, understand the patterns driving it, and build practical strategies for real, lasting change. I draw on evidence-based methods and select the combination that fits your specific situation rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. With deep experience in mental health, addiction treatment, and crisis intervention, I am comfortable with complex, layered situations, including dual diagnosis, co-occurring substance use, and the emotional weight that comes with a medical diagnosis. My focus is goal-oriented: I want each session to leave you with clearer thinking, actionable insight, and a realistic sense of what comes next. Whether the goal is short-term stabilization or sustained longer-term change, we define the path together based on what you actually need.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a welcoming, judgement-free conversation, not an intake form. We will start with what brought you here, what has been getting in the way, and what you want to be different. I will ask about your concerns, your history, and the stressors in your life, whether those involve mental health, substance use, or major life transitions. I am direct and collaborative: I will offer early observations and honest perspective while listening closely to yours. By the time we wrap up, you will leave with a clear sense of what we will focus on, what our work together will look like, and confidence that you are working with someone who has seen a great deal and can genuinely help you find your way forward.
