Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Kelley.

I graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Religious Studies. I earned my Masters degree from the University of North Texas's Counseling Psychology program.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S), Certified Eating Disorder Specialist-Consultant (CEDS-C), EMDR Certified, and have over 60 hours of training in Internal Family Systems (IFS). With more than a decade of experience under my belt in both treatment center and private practice settings, I am well equipped to help you heal your relationship with food and body image, reclaim your life from anxiety and trauma, and navigate the emotional challenges of PMDD and perimenopause. And if you appreciate a mix of humor, authenticity, and occasional swearing, we’ll likely get along well!

My approach to therapy

I believe that meaningful therapeutic work isn't just about doing, it's about being. It’s about learning how to improve our internal experience, not simply our external behaviors. It’s figuring out how to “be” with ourselves in a more compassionate way.

Our sessions may look a little different from counseling you’ve done in the past. My approach blends talk therapy with EMDR and IFS interventions. My experience has shown me that sometimes clients plateau with talk-therapy - they get to a point where they know the lingo and say all of the “right” things, but still struggle to break old patterns of behavior. In my opinion, this is because learning from someone else can only take you so far. True transformation comes from connecting deeply with yourself and learning to trust your own inner wisdom.

What you can expect from me

We'll likely cover a lot of information about your present concerns and your history. This will help us start to identify relevant details and life experiences that might contribute to what you're hoping to work on in therapy.

At the end of our session, we'll reiterate goals, and I'll likely share my thoughts about how we could approach our work together, whether that means we continue talk therapy for further exploration, or move into EMDR or IFS parts work. Ultimately, you get to decide how you want to do the work, and I'll be there to facilitate whatever you choose to do.
