Great to meet you!

My name is Kelley Smith. I have a Master's of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor through the CSWMFT Board of Ohio. I specialize in trauma therapy using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. EMDR is an amazing tool and I love helping clients obtain significant, lasting healing from their past hurts, which opens up new and exciting opportunities in their lives.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach is very gentle but direct. I like to demystify therapy so I will provide a lot of education along the way about how your physiological responses react to stressors, how your thinking forms and can limit your growth and give you practical tools to use to support healing. We will collaborate along the way to make sure that we are working on exactly what you want to work on and how you want to grow. I will be focused primarily on building a trust relationship with you.

What you can expect from our first session

My clients learn how to use the breath as the focal point of emotional control. We will explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they formed. We will use treatments that you choose which will shift your thoughts, which result in shifting your life. We will build a relationship based on trust in which you are in control and are the main agent. I see myself as a guide, journeying alongside of you to support your access to your amazing, wonderful self.
