Great to meet you!

I’ve spent the last twenty years working with adolescents, young adults, and their families, and in recent years I’ve expanded my practice to include adults of all ages. My greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to build genuine rapport and trust, creating a space where clients feel understood, supported, and safe to be themselves.

I hold a master’s degree in counseling and have additional training and experience in grief, anxiety, stress, trauma, life transitions, academic counseling, post-secondary planning, and career counseling. Whether you’re navigating a major change, processing something difficult, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to walk alongside you with warmth, practical tools, and evidence-based support.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy starts with meeting you exactly where you are. I work to understand your unique story, interests, and needs, and I build from your existing strengths to help create meaningful, lasting change. Because every client is different, I tailor my approach to what will be most effective and comfortable for you.

I draw from several evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), mindfulness practices, art therapy techniques, and supportive psychotherapy. I also incorporate psychoeducation to help you understand what you’re experiencing and learn practical tools you can use in daily life.

My goal is to create an encouraging, collaborative environment where you feel empowered, capable, and supported throughout the therapeutic process.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, the main focus is simply getting to know each other and building trust. I’ll invite you to share what brought you to counseling and any parts of your story you feel comfortable talking about — at your pace. You own your story, and I believe no one has a “right” to it, so I’ll always approach it with respect and care.

My role is to walk alongside you, support your goals, and help you start moving toward the kind of life you want to build. Toward the end of our session, we’ll talk through some initial goals or next steps to guide our work together, if you decide to continue. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about what comes next.
