Great to meet you!

I am an experienced trauma-informed clinical social worker with 28 years of expertise in treating complex trauma with children and families. I hold a Doctoral degree in social work with a focus on trauma informed practice. I have extensive experience working with children diagnosed with autism and other neurodivergent conditions.

I have worked in a variety of settings including public schools, community mental health, psychiatric inpatient facilities, and in university based clinics. These experiences have provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the range of services and supports available.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy consists of a warm and open engagement. I utilize evidence based interventions that we will review together and determine the goodness of fit.

I greatly value and continuously solicit input from my clients and their parents, as applicable.

I utilize play therapy techniques, as I regard play as a crucial component in working with children.

Additionally, I am nationally certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, incorporate aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am certified to use the ADOS-2 as an assessment tool for autism.

What you can expect from me

The consultation is casual and allows us to determine if we are the right fit for one another, It is imperative for the client to feel safe and that he/she/they can trust the therapist. This is vital for a positive therapeutic relationship.

The first session will involve exploring the essence of the clinical concern and determining together how we move forward on the therapeutic journey.
