Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with children, teens, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. I specialize in helping young people better understand their emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and build confidence in navigating difficult situations.

My goal is to create a space where individuals feel understood, supported, and equipped with the tools they need to move forward with greater confidence, stability, and resilience.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and intentional. I focus on creating a safe and supportive space where children, teens, and young adults feel comfortable expressing themselves, while also working toward meaningful and lasting change.

I take a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, helping clients understand what they’re feeling, why it’s happening, and how to respond in healthier ways. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or behaviors, I work to understand what’s underneath—whether that’s anxiety, past experiences, or difficulty navigating emotions.

I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I tailor each session to meet the client's individual and developmental needs, often incorporating interactive and creative approaches to help children and teens feel comfortable and engaged in the process.

I also work closely with parents, providing guidance and practical strategies to support progress outside of sessions. My goal is not only to help clients feel better in the moment, but to equip them with the skills and confidence needed to navigate challenges over time.

What you can expect from me

The first session focuses on helping clients feel comfortable and begin to understand what’s been going on and what support is needed. I take time to get to know the child or teen at their own pace, creating a calm, supportive environment where they don’t feel pressured to share more than they’re ready for.

For children and teens, the first session is often a mix of conversation and more interactive or engaging activities, depending on their age and comfort level. My goal is to begin building trust, so they feel safe coming back.

I also spend time with parents to better understand their concerns and what they are hoping to see change. Together, we begin identifying goals for therapy, whether that’s managing anxiety, improving emotional regulation, strengthening communication, or building confidence in difficult situations.

By the end of the first session, families can expect a clearer understanding of how I work, what the next steps look like, and how we will move forward in ways that support their child’s growth and well-being.
