Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Kellie (she/they), a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and I specialize in supporting individuals through life's challenges with evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I work primarily with individuals within the LGBTQ+ community and those navigating life transitions.

I understand that therapy can feel overwhelming at times, but I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions, make sense of your experiences, and develop the tools to live a more fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

I lead with a person-first and trauma-focused approach. I believe in treating the whole person, as well as in the restorative nature of a strong relationship between therapist and client. My therapeutic approach blends ACT and DBT to offer you flexibility and targeted strategies for managing a wide range of mental health concerns:

ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) is a mindfulness-based approach that emphasizes accepting uncomfortable feelings, clarifying what matters most to you, and committing to actions aligned with your values.

DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) focuses on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and improving interpersonal effectiveness. It’s especially helpful for managing intense emotions and improving coping strategies.

I combine these approaches to ensure we tailor each session to your needs, allowing us to focus on skills that improve your mental well-being while also making progress toward your goals.

What you can expect from me

In our work together, I’ll provide a supportive environment where you can explore your emotions, values, and life experiences. Whether you're struggling with identity, relationships, or simply seeking to manage day-to-day stress, individual counseling offers you the tools to better navigate the challenges you're facing.

I am deeply committed to ensuring that each of my clients feels heard, understood, and empowered to make lasting positive changes.
