Great to meet you!

Have you been struggling with chronic illness and chronic pain (3 months or longer). Do you have a history of chronic pain or the following symptoms: Back Pain, Tension Headaches, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Abdominal Pain, Foot Pain, Sciatic Pain, IBS, Chronic Fatigue, Insomnia, or Dizziness? Have you been searching for ways and methods to relieve your pain without any real relief or change? Your pain is real! You are not making it up! It would be cruel to think otherwise. So, what is Pain? It is a protector, a warning signal that detects danger. All pain is produced by the brain.

Chronic Pain is primarily in your brain and spinal cord. The regions of the brain that generate pain are linked with the areas that we experience emotions: the Amygdala, Hypothalamus, and Prefrontal Cortex. Avoidance, suppression or blocking of these emotions create a neural pathway that creates the symptoms of chronic pain and other symptoms.

Neuroplastic pain results from the brain misinterpreting messages of danger. You can change these dangerous messages of turning off your pain and sending your brain messages of safety. And, I will teach you how. The way you get better with any treatment is with Knowledge, Awareness, and Insight.

A bit about my approach to therapy

We will determine together, if you may have neuroplastic pain from a compassion and empathic approach. I am trained in the following evidence base research for chronic pain: PRT, CBT-CP, and EAET. Please, view on You Tube the following information regarding this form of treatment on: -Changing Your Mind: Chronic Pain-and the documentaries trailer for -Pain Brain-and -This Might Hurt-.

What you can expect from our first session

Most people view their pain from a biomedical or biopsychosocial approach which focuses on the causes for a person's complaints or problems seeking treatment from Medical Doctors, Acupuncturist, Chiropractors, Physical Therapist, etc. Are you ready to view your pain from a Symptom Perception Model, explore the psychological processes involved in the perception and reporting of physical symptoms?

I have over 25 years of clinical experience working with adults struggling with serious mental illness. I am a former chronic pain sufferer myself. You do need to be seen by a medical doctor before starting the program to ensure your pain is not from another underlying condition.
