Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Kelly Castillo. I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 15 years of experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. I specialize in working with people who are dealing with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, trauma, grief, and significant life transitions.

Therapy is a courageous step, and I’m here to support you on your journey toward becoming a healthier, more empowered version of yourself. My approach is warm, authentic, and honest, creating a safe space where you can feel truly seen and heard. I tailor therapy to meet your unique needs and goals, using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based strategies.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a variety of settings and with individuals from diverse backgrounds, ages, and experiences. This has shaped my ability to be flexible, compassionate, and culturally responsive in my work. My goal is to help you identify your strengths, develop new coping skills, and build more fulfilling relationships with yourself and others.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and goal-oriented. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through CBT, we work on identifying and challenging unhelpful thinking patterns, while Solution-Focused Therapy allows us to concentrate on your strengths and what’s already working in your life.

Together, we focus on building tools and strategies that you can apply in your everyday life to create meaningful and lasting change. I tailor each session to meet your unique needs, and my goal is always to help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and resilience.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, review what to expect from the process, and begin identifying goals that feel meaningful to you. Ongoing sessions will focus on those goals, creating space for reflection, support, and learning practical tools to navigate challenges.

Our work will center around your goals, with room for reflection, skill-building, and sometimes even a little humor because therapy doesn’t always have to be heavy to be helpful. I enjoy working with people navigating life transitions, whether it’s relationships, identity, career changes, or just trying to keep it together when everything feels like “a lot.” We’ll explore emotions, patterns, and ways to reconnect with yourself and others in healthier, more empowering ways. My approach is direct but warm, with the goal of helping you feel more grounded, confident, and capable long after our sessions end.
