Great to meet you!

From a young age, I always knew I wanted to help people, but I wasn't sure how. In college, I studied psychology and worked in a domestic violence shelter, with sexual assault survivors, as a job coach for people with disabilities, and with children and families affected by abuse. When I furthered my education, I realized that I didn't want to just identify what is "wrong" with people and give them a formula to fix it, I wanted to be a part of the journey of helping others figure out who they are and who they want to be.

My approach to therapy

My approach as your therapist is to develop a therapeutic relationship in which you feel safe and comfortable. We are in this together, figuring out what has affected you, what you want for your present and your future, and how to get there. This is a partnership. I don't have all of the answers, but I'll be there as we figure them out. I am experienced working with those with childhood trauma, life transitions (including menopause and other health issues), other mental health clinicians dealing with compassion fatigue, and those of us in the sandwich generation juggling the caregiving of our own children and parents.

What you can expect from me

I typically start with a 15-minute consultation for us to decide if we are the right fit. I expect that as our therapeutic relationship grows, you will learn that I am open-minded, humorous, and non-judgmental. I am here to provide guidance and support, and willing to challenge you when needed. Whether you are struggling with childhood trauma, relationship concerns, parenting, or realizing that you aren't sure how you ended up where you are, I am here to walk with you.
