Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with several years of experience serving children, adolescents, adults, and families across clinical, school, community, and military settings. I hold a Master’s degree in Community Agency Counseling from Hampton University and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Christopher Newport University.

My person-centered, trauma-informed approach incorporates strengths-based and solution-focused strategies to support people experiencing life challenges, trauma, grief and loss, family concerns, anger, and crisis. At the heart of my work is a commitment to meeting people where they are, honoring their experiences, and empowering them with practical tools to promote healing, resilience, personal growth, and overall well-being.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach integrates Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and realistic, solution-focused interventions to help people recognize their strengths, navigate challenges, and create meaningful change. I believe each person brings unique experiences, perspectives, and strengths to the therapeutic process, and I strive to meet people where they are with empathy, respect, authenticity, and without judgment. I work collaboratively to identify unhelpful thought patterns, understand how thoughts and emotions influence behaviors, and develop practical coping strategies that can be applied to everyday life. My approach focuses on achievable goals while encouraging personal growth, accountability, resilience, self-awareness, and healthy problem-solving skills.

What you can expect from me

The first therapy session is an opportunity to build a comfortable, trusting therapeutic relationship in a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment. Together, we will explore what brought you to therapy, discuss your concerns, identify your strengths and goals, and determine what you hope to achieve through counseling. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions and share your expectations for the therapeutic process. Most importantly, my goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, respected, supported, and hopeful about the journey ahead.
