Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Kelly Lowery, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I'm passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care in a setting where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself.

My background includes advanced training in both psychiatric and family practice, which allows me to consider the whole person - not just a diagnosis or list of symptoms. I provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management while working collaboratively with my patients to develop treatment plans that are realistic, individualized, and centered around their goals.

My approach is warm, straightforward, and judgment-free. I believe good mental health care should feel like a partnership, and I want you to understand your diagnosis, your treatment options, and the reasoning behind the decisions we make together.

Whether you've been receiving mental health treatment for years or you're reaching out for the first time, my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns, and taking meaningful steps toward feeling like yourself again!

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I believe you know yourself and your experiences best, so I start by listening - not just to your symptoms, but to how those symptoms are affecting your everyday life, relationships, work, and overall well-being.

I take an integrated approach to mental health care that may include medication management, supportive therapy, education, and practical strategies to help you navigate challenges and create meaningful change. When medication is appropriate, I believe in thoughtful prescribing and taking the time to discuss your options, including potential benefits, side effects, and what you can realistically expect from treatment.

During our visits, we can explore patterns, stressors, coping strategies, and ways to better manage the challenges you're facing. Mental health care is rarely one-size-fits-all. My goal is to meet youn where you are, create a plan that fits your needs and goals, and adjust that plan together as life changes. Above all, I want our visits to feel like a conversation and a partnership.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is really about getting to know you - not just checking boxes or identifying a diagnosis. We'll talk about what brought you in, what you've been experiencing, and how it's affecting your day-to-day life. We'll also review your medical and mental health history, previous treatments, medications, relationships, stressors, and other factors that may be contributing to how you're feeling.

I want you to feel comfortable sharing at your own pace and asking questions along the way. Together, we'll discuss what may be going on, explore treatment options, and begin developing a plan that feels realistic and individualized to you. Depending on your needs, that plan may include medication, therapy, lifestyle strategies, or a combination of approaches.

Most importantly, you can expect to be heard and included in decisions about your care. You don't need to have everything figured out before your first appointment - that's what we're here to work through together.
