Hi, I'm Kelly, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP_BC). I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, substance use, burnout, and major life transitions.
My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in real conversation. Therapy and medication management shouldn't feel cold or clinical. I believe in humor when it's helpful, honestly when it's needed, and creating a space where you can show exactly who you are - without judgment.
I practice with a strong harm-reduction lens and believe that change happens through partnership, not pressure. Whether we're discussing medication, coping skills, patterns in relationships, or substance use, my approach is participatory. We make decisions together. You are the expert in your lived experience. I bring clinical knowledge to help guide and support.
Starting mental health care can feel vulnerable - and sometimes a little awkward. That's completely normal. My goal in our first session is to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
We'll spend time talking about what brought you on, what's been feeling hard lately, and what you're hoping will change. I'll ask questions about your mental health history, medical background, sleep, stress, relationships, and, if relevant, substance use - not to interrogate you, but to understand the full picture.
You do not need to have your story perfectly organized. You don't need to know what you "should" say. We will figure it out together.
If medication is part of the conversation, we will discuss options in a collaborative way. I'll explain how medications work, potential benefits, and possible side effects. We will decide together what feels right for you. There is no pressure to start anything you're not comfortable with.
