Great to meet you!

I am a mental health professional with 25 years of experience providing therapeutic services, counseling, and behavioral support across diverse clinical and community-based settings. My experience includes working with adolescents involved in the court system, school-based counseling, and in-home therapeutic services through programs such as IICAPS, MST, and family preservation.

Throughout my career, I have provided family preservation services, family mediation, couples counseling, trauma therapy, behavioral management, substance abuse counseling, and therapeutic services addressing domestic violence and intimate partner concerns. I have extensive experience supporting adolescents transitioning into adulthood, as well as working with individuals, couples, and families to address complex challenges, strengthen relationships, and improve emotional and behavioral functioning.

My professional background also includes providing mental health support in short-term and long-term care settings, working with older adults and their caregivers to address emotional and psychological needs. I have experience supporting individuals and families impacted by trauma, behavioral challenges, substance use, and relationship difficulties.

With a broad background serving individuals across the lifespan, I bring a compassionate, person-centered, and clinically informed approach to mental health care, emphasizing resilience, behavioral change, healthy relationships, and improved quality of life.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Behavioral Interventions, along with holistic approaches. I tailor therapy to each client's individual needs, focusing on emotional regulation, practical problem-solving, healthier relationships, improved communication, resilience, and meaningful personal growth.

What you can expect from me

My approach to therapy is warm, welcoming, supportive, and empowering. During our first session, my goal is to create a safe, comfortable space where you feel heard, respected, and understood without judgment.

We will discuss the concerns that brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain from the experience, and the goals you would like to work toward. I will gather important background information to better understand your experiences, relationships, family dynamics, and life circumstances.

Together, we will begin exploring patterns, identifying challenges, and understanding how different aspects of your life and environment may contribute to your current experiences. I believe in looking at the whole person, recognizing that our relationships, family systems, experiences, and surroundings all play a role in our emotional well-being.

Therapy is a collaborative journey. My goal is to help you recognize your strengths, gain insight, develop effective coping strategies, and feel empowered to create meaningful, lasting change at your own pace.
